Jerome Booth - Chairman
In 2013, Jerome retired from Ashmore Group, a world-leading emerging markets asset management group which he helped establish in 1999. He established New Sparta Films in 2013.
Jerome is Chairman of Anglia Ruskin University, Chairman of the Britten Sinfonia, and on the board of the Royal Philharmonic Society. He is also a double bass player. He is a Vice President of Essex Community Foundation and has also served as Chairman of the Fitzwilliam Museum Development Trust.
Christopher Simon - Producer & CEO
Christopher started out as an actor in television and in London’s West End theatre working with directors such as Harold Pinter.
He has most recently produced Miss You Already, directed by Catherine Hardwicke, starring Toni Collette and Drew Barrymore. His other producing credits include: the award winning Still Life directed by Uberto Pasolini and starring Eddie Marsan and Joanne Froggatt; The Sweeney directed by Nick Love and starring Ray Winstone and Damian Lewis; the British remake of Nicolas Winding Refn’s cult hit Pusher which introduced Agyness Dean to the screen; and I, Anna, starring Charlotte Rampling and Gabriel Byrne.
Sheryl Crown - Head of Development & Producer
Sheryl has worked in theatre, TV drama and feature film production, originating, directing, developing and producing scripts for stage, broadcasters and cinemas. She has also worked as an independent producer and an executive producer for funding bodies including the UKFC, BBC, ITV and Channel 4.
Sheryl’s accolades include Oscar and BAFTA nominations for Solomon and Gaenor, which she produced, and Oscar and BAFTA wins for Searching for Sugarman which she executive produced. Sheryl is currently heading up NSP's development slate and has been doing so with the company from its inception, working creatively with the key talent, agents and principals. Recently, Sheryl has been an executive producer on Brimstone; The Lovers and the Despot; Tale of Tales; Miss You Already; and The Green Prince, among others.
Josh Green - Production Associate
Josh is the production associate at New Sparta Productions, working across development and production. With a background in theatre, Josh has produced and directed plays at the Soho Theatre, New Diorama Theatre, Pleasance Islington and Edinburgh, Underbelly Edinburgh, Warwick Arts Centre, and VAULT Festival. Josh is a graduate of the NFTS with a diploma in Script Development.
Josh graduated from the University of Warwick in 2013 with an Arts & Humanities Research Council-funded Master's in French and Francophone Studies. He then went on to receive a prestigious Wolfson Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship in the Humanities to fully fund his doctoral work on French Holocaust Theatre.
